Avondale Hosts 5th Grade Farmers Market

Students enjoyed live cooking demonstrations and samples of Cauliflower Fried Rice, live pumpkin carving, samples of locally grown apples and tomatoes, homemade pickles, popcorn, apple cider, and donuts, planting their own pumpkins to take home, and of course, shopping the fresh market with their “veggie bucks”, courtesy of Tom Maceri & Son Wholesale Produce Distributors. Avondale Athletes also volunteered to help 5th graders try out the smoothie bike, sponsored by the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM). Auburn Hills Police Department joined in the fun as well, sponsoring a lemonade and hydration station!Thank you to all who were involved and participated!
