Busy Bee

Busy Bee Before/After School Care

Avondale School District understands the importance of having a trustworthy, safe, and friendly environment for your child before and after school hours. Our Busy Bee Before/After School Care program provides just that for your school-age child. Busy Bee gives children the chance to participate in activities that encourage social, physical, and intellectual growth, while being cared for before and after school. We also provide a Summer Camp with themed activities each week. Our Busy Bee program is licensed by the State of Michigan and follows our District Calendar in terms of open/close dates and hours of operation. To learn more about the program, use the link below to visit our Busy Bee Before/After School Care page.

Special Education Family Network

Avondale Special Education Family Network (previously Friends of Different Learners) is a wonderful resource for parents of children who have a special need, from preschool through adulthood. This is a safe and judgement-free group that provides parents with the opportunity to share concerns about their child’s special challenges, gather useful information, learn about local and national resources to help support their child’s growth, and connect with other parents for acceptance, advice and guidance.

Avondale Youth Assistance

Strengthening Families Through Community Involvement

Avondale Youth Assistance (AYA) is a non-profit community service organization that is committed to strengthening our community's youth and families, and helping to reduce the incidence of juvenile delinquency, child neglect, and abuse. The AYA mission is achieved through partnerships between the Avondale School District, local municipalities, and the Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division, who provides caseworkers to offer counseling services to children and families within Avondale.

AYA provides a wide range of programs and services to community youth and their families, including mentoring programs, recognition programs to honor positive personal achievements, after-school and summer programs, scholarships, and more. For Avondale youth and their families, AYA also provides services like drug test kits, mentor program brochures and videos, financial assistance information, suicide prevention tips, community resources and more.
