Meetings & Events

Avondale High School students who gain membership to National Honor Society are expected to attend several meetings throughout the academic year. If a student knows they are going to miss a meeting, their parent must contact a co-advisor in order to excuse their absence. Any materials issued at the meeting may be retrieved by a fellow member in attendance, or from the Media Center mailbox.

Selection Procedure

NHS membership is open to high school students in grades 10-12 who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, service, leadership and character. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to be given initial consideration, at which point they will be invited to complete a Candidate Information Packet that will be reviewed to determine if the student meets the remaining criteria.
